In addition, we expertly fit rigid contact lenses for keratoconus and high
myopia (-12 to-35).
If you have never worn contact lenses and are interested in having them
fitted, our Ottawa optometrists and

best suited for you. If you wear contact lenses, we would ask you to wear
them on the day of your examination in order for the doctor to verify the
fit of the lenses.
Children’s eye exams
Our clinic is equipped to perform a complete assessment of your child’s eyes.
The Canadian Association of Optometrists strongly recommends a child’s first
visual examination take place between the ages of 6 and 9 months, and
annually once they start school.
What to expect at your first appointment
An eye exam is about more than just a prescription for glasses. An
optometrists is a front line primary health care provider. Our optometrists

injuries, to ocular manifestations of systemic conditions, maintaining the

In order to better examine your eyes, we may need to dilate your pupils. In
such a case, you may be sensitive to light following the exam. Reading and
driving may be difficult, or in some cases, impossible, for a few hours.
Please note that the duration of an eye examination can vary between twenty
minutes to two hours. However, we do understand that it is not always
possible to complete the entire exam on the same day. We are happy to
accommodate you and schedule necessary additional diagnostic tests another
day.
