Trust Us with Your Eye Care in Ottawa, ON

We are medical experts in vision care

Our clinic is known for its attention to detail, approach to problem-solving, and exceptional eye care in Ottawa. Some of our specialized services and most advanced technologies are described here. Every patient is unique, and we welcome patients with all levels of vision complexity.

Elevating Eye Care in Ottawa: Our Specialized Services

High Myopia (Nearsightedness)

We understand the importance of clear and comfortable vision. Our experience and technology allow us to offer the highest quality lens materials and a precision fit for an exceptional final product. Where contact lenses are preferred or required, we are able to offer a variety of custom and specialty lenses. Importantly, where health is concerned, our patients can rest assured that they always receive a meticulous examination of the eye, with special attention to retinal health, when they see our optometrists.

Glaucoma

Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to measure intraocular pressure, assess visual fields, and take precise scans and nerve tissue measurements with OCT, right on site. We take the time to help you understand glaucoma, your test results, and treatment options. Our optometrists work closely with glaucoma specialists and are able to prescribe medications, when necessary. As early detection is key in managing the progression of glaucoma, we also offer important screening for family members of those affected.

Dry eye evaluation/treatment

Dry eye syndrome is a common condition that can cause uncomfortable, watery eyes, and decreased clarity of vision. If left untreated, chronic dry eye may also result in damage to the structures of the eye. Using a biomicroscope, we will identify and evaluate the extent of specific factors that cause inflammation and irritation on the eye, and recommend the most suitable treatment options to help your eyes feel comfortable again.

Specialized contact lenses

Our clinic carries over 10,000 contact lenses including frequent replacement, astigmatism-correcting, bifocal, rigid gas permeable, scleral lenses and ultra violet blocking. In addition, we expertly fit rigid contact lenses for keratoconus and high myopia (-12 to-35).

Assessments & follow up examinations

Our optometrists preform comprehensive assessments and follow up examinations for patients with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinal detachments to name a few. During your examination, our optometrists are able to detect evidence of many serious health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Binocular vision

We pay special attention to binocular vision (how the eyes work together), as it is a common cause for tired eyes, eyestrain and blurred vision, especially at the computer. We are also qualified to help manage headaches caused by binocular dysfunction and double vision.

Collaboration with specialists

We work with retinal surgeons, glaucoma specialists, neuro-ophthalmologists, uveitis specialists, as well as corneal transplant surgeons to ensure our patients get the best care.

Laser vision correction

Are you considering laser vision correction? Are you interested to learn if you are a good candidate or do you have questions about the procedure? The best way to determine your candidacy is to consult your eye care professional. Laser eye surgery isn’t for everyone, but it is highly successful when performed on the right candidates.

Post laser vision correction surgery care

I See Optometry offers follow-up exams after laser vision correction surgery. This includes a detailed examination of the cornea to ensure that there is no inflammation or dryness, as well as to ensure proper healing.

Functional vision assessments

We have been caring for children from OCTC (Ottawa Childrenʼs Treatment Centre)’s vision for many years. We take the time to assess visual function, even in the most challenging cases.

Motor-vehicle visual standard testing

We perform eye exams for the Ministry of Transportation of any province and for every license category. We perform onsite Esterman visual field testing (the specific visual field requested by Ontario and Quebec transportation authorities). We also have experience helping patients with low vision safely get their driver’s license, when appropriate.

Application for police/RCMP/fire department

We have all the necessary technology to assess the candidate’s visual abilities such as specific color vision, visual field and acuities. We can also assist in refractive surgery when myopia or astigmatism is too significant.

Low vision and rehabilitation exam

Our optometrists have noteworthy experience with low vision cases. Our optometrists assess the visual function of the patient using visual field analysis’s, visual acuity tests, contrast sensitivity, and offer personalized recommendations to improve the quality of life of the patient. We work closely with CNIB and ADP. We are an ADP authorizer and vendor.

We are happy to welcome new patients!
